MSC MEDLOG Cold Store is a state-of-the-art 15,000 square metre cold storage facility in Durban, opened in March 2024 as part of MSC’s logistics division. The facility features convertible rooms to accommodate both chilled and frozen cargo, mobile racks to optimise space, and a warehouse management system fully integrated with the PPECB (Perishable Produce Export Control Board) database for regulatory compliance and full traceability. The cold store supports both import commodities including chicken from Brazil, USA, and Poland, and exports primarily comprising citrus destined for Europe, Middle East, and Far East/Asia markets. The facility symbolises MSC’s enduring partnership and investment in South Africa’s cold chain infrastructure.
