Maersk Belcon Cold Store is a state-of-the-art temperature-controlled facility officially opened in October 2025 as part of Maersk’s USD 100+ million (R1.72 billion) investment in South Africa’s cold chain infrastructure. Located at the Belcon Inland Terminal in Bellville, the facility features 32,000 pallet positions, an on-site container depot, and direct access to the Port of Cape Town. The facility specialises in perishable exports including citrus and table grapes, offering integrated logistics solutions covering consolidation, storage, customs brokerage, terminal handling, and multimodal transport. Belcon incorporates renewable energy systems and forms part of the Western Cape’s Overberg Rail Business Case Pilot, reconnecting Caledon’s agricultural region to port infrastructure.
